Condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, former and current students, and Fraters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. on the unfortunate death of Ennis. Although I never met Ennis, it is very apparent that the legacy that he left behind will continue years past his short time on earth.

This is what Black Greek fraternity and sorority members should be doing. There is enough partying and representing the organizations as purely social, not social service. Great job, hope to see more from these brothers.

A great move from Phi Beta Sigma. My hope is that this is not a purely a public relations move. Hazing is as much a part of Greek life as racism is a part of life in the U.S. The key to addressing hazing is prosecuting to the fullest extent of the law anyone who engages in this process. Another key is simply a culture of Black Greek life that allows people to think that to be a member you have to be "hazed." Members need to stop telling their "war stories" about how they pledged. These stories make those who have not been through the same process feel like less of a member, no matter what others say. I pray that this is a serious effort to eliminate the physical abuse that still occurs among male and female sorority candidates.

I'm not a Delta Cigna Theta but I have common since and it just makes me uneasy to know that our future is in the hands of unprofessionals that are in charge of being the director of operations. To give constructive criticism is one thing, but to be cruel and ill-willed is another. Nothing against all The Sisters, but one bad potato can spoil the rest.

Oh how I loved those Washington years. He was the man, he would make a statement and stood by that, not bending this way nor that way. Wish our young people of today could have seen how he worked. He inspired our President, so I guess they can see some of his benefits of yester year. But as I tell my husband he was one in a life time. My husband was a police sgt. for the city and boy did they have pride when they had to organize for one of Mayor Washington's event. Shoes shined, shirts creased in the correct manor, hats cleaned, I could go on. 20 plus years ago, seem like a few years ago, I got that phone call telling we had lost our beloved Mayor.

This is a great magazine! Very insightful articles. I also loved the article entitled "Scholarship". I also liked the article that showcased the great work and academic achievement of Omega Frater Sherwin Bryant. Great job!
